Position: Chief Researcher at the Laboratory of Flower, Ornamental, and Berry Crops

Research interests: Ornamental plant cultivation, biology of crops, landscape gardening, medicinal and essential oil crops

PhD thesis topic: “Peculiarities of inheritance and variability of distinctive traits in millet plants, their use in breeding and in variety patentability examination”

Doctoral thesis topic: “Management of the process of yield formation in common millet grain”

Scientific school: Supervised 3 PhD and 1 Doctor of Science candidates

Short biographical note:
Born on June 10, 1957. In 1983, she received a degree in agronomy after graduating from the Faculty of Plant Protection at the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy. She began her professional career at the Ukrainian Research Station of Flower and Ornamental Plants.
She worked for over six years at the M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany as a senior laboratory assistant, engineer, and leading engineer. From 1994 to 2002, she worked in the variety testing system in various positions: leading specialist, chief specialist, chief specialist–scientific consultant, senior researcher, and head of the laboratory. From 1998 to 2002, she pursued postgraduate studies at the Institute of Agriculture, specializing in “Breeding and Seed Production.”
From 2002 to 2011, she worked at the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences (now the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine) as a senior, leading, and chief researcher. She was later transferred to the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination as Deputy Director.
In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of “Crop Production.”
Since 2011, she has been working at the Institute of Horticulture of NAAS, initially as Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovative Work from 2011 to 2016, and subsequently as Chief Researcher.

Professional Development

Internship at the ISMA University of Applied Sciences (Riga, Republic of Latvia) in the field of “Agrarian Sciences and Food” (July 3 – August 13, 2023).
