FOREWORD
Educational and Scientific Program (ESP) "Horticulture and Viticulture"
for the preparation of applicants for higher education at the third (educational and scientific)degrees in the specialty "Horticulture and Viticulture" contains volume ECTS credits required to obtain an appropriate higher education degree;
list of graduate competencies; normative content of preparing
applicants for higher education, formulated in terms of learning outcomes;
forms of certification of applicants for higher education; system availability requirements of internal quality assurance of higher education.
ESP was developed by members of the project group of the Institute of Horticulture NAAS that consists of:

Field of study
|
Horticulture and viticulture in two specializations: horticulture, viticulture (20 Agricultural sciences and victuals). The objects of study and activities of applicants are research, pedagogical, organizational - technological, design-technological, organizational-managerial operation system of enterprises in fields of horticulture and viticulture, organizations and institutions of all forms of ownership. Purpose of education - the formation of general and special competencies needed to handle with the complex tasks of horticulture and viticulture, which provides implementation of research and innovation activities and characterized by uncertainty of conditions and requirements. Theoretical content of the subject area: - theoretical- methodological and applied aspects of horticultural technologies; -profound ideas about the structure, management and optimization of horticultural processes, design principles of orchards and the operation of horticultural enterprises; -methodology of organization and control of appropriate - level of quality and safety of garden trees, environmental safety and technological resource conservation processes of its production; resource conservation processes of its production. -scientific-methodological foundations of research -innovation activities; - methodology of teaching activities; -execution of project and scientific-research works, related to the exploration of technological processes, implementation of new and improvement of existing ones fruit production technologies. -Methods, techniques and technologies (which must be mastered by higher education receivers for practical application): a set of organizational and technological, research, innovation and marketing methods, techniques and technologies to improve the efficiency of operation and strategic development of enterprises and organizations of the industry. Tools and equipment (objects / devices, gadgets and appliances that the higher education student learns how to use and apply it): computer technology and information technology, modern laboratory and technical equipment. |

Focus of program: general/ specia |
The third (educational and scientific) level of higher education according to Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education", eighth qualification level of the National Qualifications Framework. General: - Deep knowledge of the basics of philosophy, political science, sociology, culturology, which contribute to the development of political cultures and active public position; mastering the principles innovative and scientific work that promotes the formation scientist; ability to use world information resources and conducting a patent search on their basis; fluency in one of the foreign languages for communication with the world's leading scientists schools; gaining planning skills and horticultural management; mastering the principles writing scientific articles, recommendations for production, monographs; psychological and pedagogical foundations of carrying out scientific conferences, debates, presentations, lectures. Fundamental knowledge of biometrics and methods of research cases that are needed for planning research in the field of horticulture, their analysis results and formation of conclusions and production recommendations; knowledge in the field of informatics and modern information technology; basics of economic knowledge to account for costs for the implementation of technological techniques and calculation of their economic and bioenergy efficiency; knowledge of biophysics, biochemistry and basics of biotechnology for laboratory purposes and conducting biochemical analyzes and biophysical experiments. Deep knowledge of the biological foundations of fruit growing; technologies of cultivation, harvesting, storage and processing; organization and conduct of researches; modern agricultural machinery for implementation of technologies in horticulture; pathogens and pests of fruit plants; use of agrochemicals, permitted for use in horticulture; varietal resources and cultivar investigation of fruit plants; foundations of genetics, breeding and seed production; organic gardening; introduction of innovations in production; organization of growing fruits and seedlings in different farms type of ownership; principles of fruit marketing products in domestic and foreign markets: deep knowledge of ecology and providing garden trees safety; calculation of economic and bioenergy efficiency. Special: The study of economic and biological characteristics of fruit, berry and nut breeds. Research of uterine plantations of different types and assignments. Determination of the main varieties of fruit, berry and nut breeds common in industrial plantations. Selection of breeds and varieties when laying the garden. Justification of the importance of uncommon crops in berry development. Determining the directions of selection work with fruit, berry and nut breeds. Analysis of the existing range of fruit, berry and nut breeds, entered in the "State Register varieties of plants suitable for cultivation in Ukraine". Formation of a register of the main donors of economic and biological traits in the selection of fruit, berry and nut breeds. Definition of modern methods of selection in horticulture accelerated selection in the early stages of elite hybrid progeny. Study of the adaptability of new domestic and introduced rootstocks of fruit species to soil and climatic conditions of the main fruit-growing zones of Ukraine. Improving the method of reproduction by method with the use of green propagule and clonal rootstocks of stone fruit crops. Study of the mechanisms of mineral nutrition of fruits and berry crops, development of scientific bases application of fertilizers, herbicides, growth stimulants of rootstock mother plants, nursery and orchard. Study of environmental sustainability and productivity of varietal-rootstock combinations in different types of plantings. Development of theoretical and methodological foundations of zoning of fruit and berry species. Justification of agro-ecological zones of horticulture in Ukraine. Ways to increase the productivity of fruits and berries plantations. Research of influence of various ways of formation and pruning for the productivity of orchards and bush berry breeds. Development of methodology and application of modern ways to create and use productively effective types of fruit and berry plantations. Study of phyto virological condition of plantations fruit crops and their rootstocks in different regions of Ukraine in order to identify the original forms of varieties and rootstocks for creation of rootstock mother plants-propagule orchards and rootstock mother plants of clonal rootstocks. Development and implementation of biotechnological methods diagnostics of fruit, berry and nut breeds in the system of production of virus-free planting material. Improving the methods of rehabilitation of infected clones of fruit crops and their clonal rootstocks using chemotherapy, thermotherapy and in vitro culture. Maintenance and updating of the collection of basic material of berry species and clonal rootstocks in vitro culture. Substantiation of technologies of cultivation, mechanization, labor-intensive processes in horticulture and nursery and economic efficiency of creation and productive use of fruit and berry plantations. Research of influence of abiotic and biotic factors on quality indicators of fruit crops, berry and nut breeds, in particular soil and climatic conditions and agrotechnical methods of cultivation. Study of main features for the creation of raw materials plantations of fruit and berry crops. Development consumer characteristics of grain crops, stone fruit crops, berry and nut breeds. Research features of various crops cultivation intended for mechanized harvesting. Establishment of terms of harvesting of fruits and berry breeds. Determining the direction of product use by degree of ripeness and content of organic matter. |

Program Specifics |
Educational component of the program. The program is implemented in small groups of researchers by two specializations: Horticulture and viticulture. The program provides differentiated approach to postgraduate students of full-time and correspondence course form of education and applicants. The program provides 45 ECTS credits for compulsory subjects, of which 22 credits ECTS is a discipline of general training (philosophy, foreign language, high school pedagogy, computer information processing, mathematical modeling and experiment planning, research methodology and organization of dissertation preparation) that provide for the acquisition of postgraduate students of general science (philosophical) competencies, language competencies, universal skills of the researcher. Another 23 ECTS credits provided for the disciplines of professional training, pedagogical practice of which 15 ECTS credits – for elective disciplines within the mentioned specializations. Pedagogical assistant practice not less than 50 hours. Scientific component of the program. Scientific component educational and scientific program involves the implementation of their own research led by one or two supervisors with the appropriate design received results in the form of a dissertation. This component of the program does not measured by ECTS credits, and issued separately in in the form of an individual plan of scientific work of the postgraduate student and is an integral part of the curriculum. A feature of the scientific component of educational and scientific preparing programs for doctors of philosophy in the specialty 203 - Horticulture and viticulture are separate components of their own research graduate students will be able to perform during practical classes in disciplines of professional preparation. |

The approach to teaching and learning involves: - introduction of active teaching methods that provide a personality-oriented approach and development of thinking of postgraduate students (applicants); - close cooperation of postgraduate students (applicants) with their own scientific supervisors; - support and counseling of postgraduate students (applicants) by researchers of the IH NAAS of Ukraine and sectoral scientific- research institutes, including providing access to modern equipment; - involvement of postgraduate students (applicants) in counseling ,recognized specialists-practitioners in production and science; - information support for the participation of postgraduate students (applicants) in competitions for scientific scholarships,awards, grants (including international); - providing opportunities for postgraduate students (applicants) to take part in the preparation of research projects for competitions of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; - direct participation in the implementation of budget and initiative scientific-research works. |

Evaluation System |
Educational component of the program. Evaluation knowledge system in the disciplines of educational and scientific program consists of current and final control. Current knowledge control of graduate students is carried out in oral form (survey on the results of the processed material). Final control of knowledge in the form of exam / test conducted in writing form, followed by oral interview. Within the disciplines that provide professional preparation, positive assessments of the current and final controls can be set automatically if postgraduate student prepared and published scientific articles in collections that are part of professional publications and / or publications that included in international scientometric databases. Number articles and their topics are agreed with the supervisor. Scientific component of the program. Scientific evaluation activities of postgraduate students (applicants) is carried out on the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators that characterize preparation of scientific papers, participation in conferences, preparation of individual parts of the dissertation in accordance with approved individual plans of scientific work of postgraduate students (applicant). Reports of graduate students (applicants), for the results of the individual plan, annually approved at the meeting of departments and the Academic Council institute with a recommendation to continue (or terminate) postgraduate studies. |

Control form of success in teaching of postgraduate student (applicant)

Educational component of the program. Final control the success of postgraduate study (applicant) is carried out in form: - exam - based on the results of studying such compulsory disciplines of the educational program, such as philosophy and a foreign language for professional purposes, as well as comprehensive professional exam based on the results of the study disciplines of professional preparing; - test - based on the results of the study of all others disciplines provided by the curriculum. Scientific component of the program. The end result of postgraduate (applicant) preparing is appropriate designed, according to the results of scientific research, dissertation manuscript, its public defense and award he received a doctorate in philosophy 203 - Horticulture and viticulture. |

Staffing. In teaching of academic disciplines mandatory part of the educational content are taken part by doctor of science,candidates of science who have relevant experience in practical,scientific and pedagogical works. Logistics. Professional training of specialists in the specialty "Horticulture and viticulture "provides the teaching staff of the Institute horticulture NAAS and agrobiological faculty of National University of Life and Environmental Science of Ukraine (NULESU). Departments and faculties provide the educational process with methodological and informational materials in sufficient quantities from regulatory needs.
